Earlier this Spring, I took a small group on a tour of 4 New Deal/Great Depression era murals in Arkansas post offices and courthouses. SATURDAY JUNE 24, I will be doing a replay of the previous tour. We will leave Van Buren, proceed to Clarksville and Morrilton, stop at Subiaco Academy for lunch, then see the post office in Paris before finishing the day at the Van Buren main post office downtown. We will discuss the program that created these murals, some depression era history, and the lasting impacts of the work. The cost will cover your bus ride and a boxed lunch.
We will meet in the parking lot in front of downtown Van Buren Post Office at 8:30am and leave promptly at 8:45am.
